• The upper watershed still close to the Andes
• Weather seems slightly milder than more eastern parts of the Amazon
• In the west, temperatures are bit lower during the day and at night usually cooling to the low twenties (C) or seventies (F)

Itineraries
3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS
DAY 1: The journey begins at “El Puente”. We continue driving until we reach the Nicky Amazon Lodge. A welcome cocktail and rest. Later you will go on your first exploratory activity in the surrounding area. Dinner and rest.
DAY 2: Early morning, we’ll explore the area looking for monkeys and birds in the tropical rainforest. After breakfast we’ll visit the Indigenous Siona community to learn about the local customs and traditions, lunch. In the afternoon we’ll visit the Laguna Grande where we can swim in the calm waters while watching the sunset. Later we’ll continue our adventure observing the nocturnal fauna with some species of bats and looking for caimans. Back to the lodge and dinner.
DAY 3: Early morning we’ll take a short trip by canoe and birdwatching. After breakfast we provide a box lunch for the trip and back to “El Puente” and we will return to Quito.

4 DAYS/ 3 NIGHTS
DAY 1: QUITO-CUYABENO: Public bus from Quito
to Cuyabeno Bridge, or tourist bus (one day trip before – 10 hours) to Cuyabeno Bridge. The journey begins at “El Puente”. We continue driving until we reach the Nicky Amazon Lodge. Welcome cocktail
and rest. Later it will carry out its first exploratory activity in the surroundings. dinner and rest.
DAY 2: CUYABENO: Early in the morning, we will explore
the area in search of monkeys and birds. Breakfast and
we will walk through the tropical jungle and our guide will
share all his knowledge and experiences of him. After lunch
we will take a rowing canoe trip down the Cuyabeno River
taking us through the dense jungle landscape. We will observe
wildlife. After dinner, we will explore the surroundings of the
lodge in search of nocturnal animals.
DAY 3: CUYABENO: Breakfast, we will visit the Siona Indigenous
community to learn about local customs and traditions, lunch.
In the afternoon we will visit the Laguna Grande where we can
swim in the calm waters while we watch the sunset. Later we
will continue our adventure observing the nocturnal fauna with
some species of bats and looking for alligators. Return to the lodge
and dinner.
DAY 4: CUYABENO – QUITO: Early in the morning we will do a short
canoe trip and bird watching. After breakfast we provide a box
lunch for the trip and return to “El Puente” and we will return to Quito.
5 DAYS/4 NIGHTS
DAY 1: The journey begins at “El Puente”. We continue driving until we reach the Nicky Amazon Lodge. A welcome cocktail and rest. Later you will go on your first exploratory activity in the surrounding area. Dinner and rest.
DAY 2: Early morning, we’ll explore the area looking for monkeys and birds. Breakfast and we’ll walk through the rainforest and our guide will share all his knowledge and experiences. After Lunch we’ll take a trip by paddle canoe down the Cuyabeno River taking us through the dense jungle landscape. We’ll observe the wildlife. After dinner, we’ll explore the lodge’s surroundings to look for nocturnal animals.
DAY 3: Breakfast, we’ll visit the Indigenous Siona community to learn about the local customs and traditions, lunch. In the afternoon we’ll visit the Laguna Grande where we can swim in the calm waters while watching the sunset. Later we’ll continue our adventure observing the nocturnal fauna with some species of bats and looking for caimans. Back to the lodge and dinner
DAY 4: Breakfast and then we’ll explore a pristine stretch of the jungle. Our guide will tell you more about the medicinal use of the flora. Lunch. Then we’ll explore the Cuyabeno River paddling by canoe and enjoy the views.
DAY 5: Early morning we’ll take a short trip by canoe and birdwatching. After breakfast we provide a box lunch for the trip and back to “El Puente” and we will return to Quito.
